Style 1397 Single conductor with extruded insulation.

Rating90 deg C, 600 Vac, FT-2 flame, 60 deg C Wet. Optional - Moisture Resistant.
ConductorResistance Wire. Nickel, copper alloy or copper, size varies dependent upon wattage demand.
InsulationExtruded PVC, Type TW, THW or THWN compound, 30 mils minimum average thickness, 27 mils minimum thickness at any point.
CoveringExtruded nylon, 3 mils thickness, plus or minus 1 mil.
ShieldCopper braid consisting of bare copper. Combination of strand size and number of strands such that braid is equivalent to 18 AWG.
JacketExtruded PVC, 20 mils minimum average thickness, 16 mils minimum thickness at any point.
StandardAppliance Wiring Material UL 758.
MarkingGeneral. The conductor alloy designation shall be included, Ohms per foot rating may be marked.
Use"Thermoplastic Insulated Resistance Wire for Heating Cable Units where exposed to temperatures not exceeding 90 deg. C; moisture resistant 60 deg. C". The conductor alloy designation shall be included Ohms per foot rating.
