Style 20944 Multi-conductor Cable with Extruded Non-Integral Jacket.

Rating250 deg C, 600 Vac, Horizontal flame.
Conductor18 AWG - 10 AWG solid or stranded round, nickel-plated copper strands.
InsulationExtruded MFA or PFA, 20 mils minimum average thickness, 18 mils minimum thickness at any point.
Heating ElementHeating Element - Nichrome, copper alloy or other suitable resistance wire is spirally wound around the insulation; the AWG size of wire, number of turns, length between contact with the copper conductor are dependent upon the wattage demand and the voltage used to energize the cable.
AssemblyOver two insulated conductors laid parallel, a MFA or PFA, 5 mils minimum thickness at any point, is extruded to form a two conductor parallel cord. This cord is now prepared for the spiral wound heating element. This is done by carefully removing the insulation along the length of the cord so as to bare the copper conductor for approx 1/2 in widths at periodic intervals. A spirally wound nichrome or the type of resistance wire is then carefully wound the length of the core and may be soldered to the exposed conductor. By varying the distance between contacts with the conductors, the number of turns per inch of resistance wire and the AWG size (resistance) of the spirally wound wire, different wattages per foot per service voltage can be obtained. Arrange order - insulated conductor with heating element, optional inner covering, jacket, optional middle covering, optional shield and optional outer shield.
ShieldOptional.
CoveringInner and middle covering - Optional, Fiberglass braid. Outer covering - Optional, Extruded PFA, FEP or MFA, 13 mils min at any point.
JacketExtruded FEP, MFA or PFA, 20 mils minimum average thickness, 16 mils minimum thickness at any point.
