|
Conductor | 18 AWG - 10 AWG, stranded. |
|
Insulation | Extruded PVC |
| Conductor size | Minimum average thickness | Minimum thickness at any point |
| 18-12 AWG | 30 mils | 27 mils |
| 10 AWG | 45 mils | 40 mils |
| Wet rated cable shall use Recognized Component - Polymeric Material for use in Wire, Cable and Flexible Lighting Products or see Facing Page for compound designation. |
|
Assembly | Two circuit conductor and one grounding conductor, same as Type SJT. |
|
Shield | Over one or more insulated conductors, braided copper with 85% minimum coverage employing 36-34 AWG strands.
Alternatively, Aluminum Foil with 100% coverage over the black and white conductor and 30% minimum coverage of a braided copper shield, employing 36-34 AWG strands, over the foil.
Alternatively, a conductive polymeric layer, with a thickness of 0.008-0.016 inches, to be applied over the insulation of the two circuit conductors. The polymeric layer shall have an average surface resistivity of 1E6 ohm/sq or greater. A drain wire, either solid or stranded, 24 AWG or larger is to be cabled with the conductors such that contact occurs between the drain wire and the polymeric coated circuit conductors.
