Subj.758 Section 2 Page 2627 Issued:1973-04-24
Revised:2011-11-03
Style 2627 Multiconductor cable with extruded non-integral jacket.

Rating80 deg C, Voltage not specified, Horizontal flame (construction A) Cable flame (construction B).
Conductor32 AWG - 20 AWG, solid or stranded, copper, copper-clad steel, copper alloy, bare, tinned or silver-coated, having a minimum of 40 percent conductivity.
InsulationExtruded XLPE or extruded foamed XLPE, 15 mils thickness.
AssemblyMultiple conductors. Over the conductors shall be applied a spiral wrap of XLPE or foamed XLPE thread nominally 15 mils in diameter, approximately 1/2 inch between turns. This assembly shall be enclosed with an XLPE or foamed XLPE tube having an approximate 15 mils thickness. Over this is applied a wrap of aluminum-faced PET tape with a drain wire under the tape. The length of lay of the twisted conductors is not specified. Fillers may be used in a cable but are not required. A barrier layer, if employed, may be a fibrous wrap serving or braid; paper; nylon; PET; or a thermoplastic-tape wrap. Such a barrier layer would serve to protect the cable during further processing and would be applied immediately over the twisted assembly of individual conductors or groups of conductors.
ShieldOptional.
JacketExtruded PVC.
