Style 2983 Multiple-Conductor Cable Using Extruded Non-Integral Jacket

Rating150 deg C, 150 Vac, Horizontal flame, Oil Resistant 80 deg C (optional).
ConductorSolid or stranded round, tinned or bare.
InsulationLabeled or complying with manufacturer's AWM procedure, 5 mils min average. The designations of all styles of individual conductors used in making up the cable assembly shall be available.
AssemblyTwo or more individually insulated conductors or groups of insulated conductors cabled together. All conductors in any group twisted together. If more than one group is used, groups shall also be twisted together. The length of lay of the twisted conductors or groups is not specified. A barrier layer, if employed, may be a fibrous wrap serving, or braid; paper; nylon; oriented polyethylene terephthalate; or thermoplastic-type wrap. Such a barrier would serve to protect the cable during further processing and to be applied immediately over the twisted assembly of individual conductors or groups of conductors.
