Conductor8 AWG - 4/0 AWG, solid or stranded.
InsulationLabeled or complying with manufacturer's AWM procedure, 60 mils minimum average thickness, 54 mils minimum thickness at any point.
AssemblyThree or four 8-4/0 AWG power conductors twisted together with two 10-14 AWG control wires added. Each control conductor shall be in a separate interstice between the power conductors. The maximum length of lay shall be 21 times the diameter of the power conductor for assemblies having 3 power conductors and 23 times the diameter for assemblies with 4 power conductors. The direction of length of lay shall be left hand. Nonhydroscopic fillers shall be provided as needed to ensure that the finished cable is round. The jacket may be applied in one or two layers.
